Consortium are proud to work with local homelessness charity Turning Tides and would like to encourage any local businesses to consider taking part in one of their upcoming SleepOut fundraisers.
As the temperatures are dropping, the days are getting shorter and the nights are drawing in, many of us think about how to support those who are less fortunate.
What are SleepOuts?
Sleepouts are a sponsored event where participants can get an insight into what street homelessness is like for the people who live like that every day.
They are designed to give participants an idea of what it’s like to sleep rough, without the risk, as well as being an event to raise much needed funds for Turning Tides.
You can expect to learn something new, go home feeling blessed and meet lots of wonderful people.
What can you do?
This Christmas period, you can put “giving back” into action and really help those who are missing the luxuries that we often take for granted. Turning Tides are providing an opportunity to put yourself in other’s shoes and practice what you preach!
Why not get a team of colleagues or friends together and take part in one of the upcoming SleepOuts?

There are two dates to choose from:
The Littlehampton SleepOut takes place on Saturday 16th November 2019 at River Beach Primary School.
The Worthing SleepOut is being held on Saturday 23rd November 2019 at Broadwater Primary school.
Arrive from 6pm with your sleeping bag and cardboard, to be greeted by a staff member, you can enjoy a light meal, hot drink, movie and a talk before finding a spot to make your bed for the night.
You’ll have access to toilets, shelter and a hot drink/soup throughout the night if needed. In the morning enjoy a breakfast, drink and share your experiences with each other, before going home.
Everyone should have a place to call home. At Turning Tides, we know anyone’s life can unravel into homelessness.
We hope to bring together compassionate individuals and organisations to transform the lives of people in our local community and to change perceptions of homelessness.
Help us get the message across – we hope to inspire you to aid with our fundraise and share photos and thoughts with your friends, family and on social media.
